Máxima launches youth platform on mental health

Lancering In je bol, initiatief van oa. @ease

Stress, feeling alone or dealing with a rough patch. Lots of young people have questions and worries about their mental health. That’s why today the new platform In je bol was launched – one online place for young people aged 16 to 27 to find info and support. @ease is proud to be one of the 7 core partners from the start.

Young people are also referred to the right kind of support from the platform – like a conversation at @ease. With In je bol, we’ve created one clear, central starting point that helps young people find the support they need, based on what works for them – from all the great initiatives the Netherlands has to offer.

Developed with and for young people

@ease has been involved as a core partner from the very first brainstorms, bringing years of experience in peer support and youth participation. Together with De Kindertelefoon, MIND Us, MIND, 113 Suicide Prevention, Join Us and Transformers Community, we shaped this platform, with young people at the table, of course.

Festive launch in Utrecht

At the festive launch in Utrecht, with Queen Máxima and State Secretary Judith Tielen in attendance, young people shared openly why a platform like In je bol is so badly needed. Queen Máxima is honorary chair of MIND Us and a powerful voice when it comes to youth mental health. Since losing her sister, she’s been actively committed to opening up the conversation, breaking stigma, and making support easier to reach.

She did so again today, by officially launching the platform together with young people. Representing @ease, Wiger, former chair of our Youth Council, joined Queen Máxima on stage to count down and open the platform in celebration. A symbolic moment that showed how young people and committed adults can truly make a difference together.

Why @ease is participating

@ease has been working for years to make it easier to talk about mental struggles. Young people can reach out to us for free and anonymously – online or at one of our locations – to talk with trained peers. With our experience in peer support, youth participation and connecting young people to further help, we’re proud to contribute to In je bol.

The sooner young people find their way to help, the greater the chance that complaints will be reduced or even prevented.
